The Austin Family Chiropractic Website has been created so that we may serve you
better. We would like to inform you about Chiropractic and how it can help you
lead a healthier life.
Here you can learn about what to expect during your care in our office. You can
also meet Dr. Austin and Eugena, who is our
chiropractic assistant as well as our Licensed Massage Therapist.
Our aim is to provide you with sufficient information in order to make you
comfortable about choosing us to be a part of your health care team.
It is our hope that the AFC Website will give you a better understanding about
chiropractic. Dr. Austin accepts most insurances and is a provider for both
Blue Cross (local and federal plans) and Medicare.

Doctor of Chiropractic
Austin is a 1993 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield,
Austin was honored in January 2001, with the G.T.O. CHIROPRACTOR OF THE YEAR Award for the year
2000 from the Parker Chiropractic Seminars. Dr. Austin attends several seminars
each year in order to stay up to date with the latest research on various
facets of chiropractic, acupuncture, auriculotherapy,
cold laser therapy, nutrition and other health-related topics.
graduation, Dr. Austin has taken post-graduate courses focusing on:
chiropractic biophysics, nutrition, chiropractic orthopedics, chiropractic
pediatrics, advanced acupuncture, personal injury, botanical (herbal) medicine,
sports injuries, extremity adjusting, impairment ratings, cold laser therapy
keeps very active. He enjoys weight
lifting, swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, walking, jogging, gardening
and landscaping, exploring caves, ice skating, (watching) Tampa Bay Buccaneers
football, and (watching) NHL hockey. Dr. Austin also enjoys learning and
speaking to groups about bats (yes,
the world's only flying mammals), as well as spending time with his wife Eugena,
and their 3 young daughters, Ava, Zorah & Aegea.
Dr. Austin is
also very active in the Virden community.
Austin is a current member (for the past 15 years) and a past-president of the Virden Area Association of
Commerce, where he served for a total of three years as an officer in the
Austin has been a member of Toastmasters International since 1994. He was
instrumental in starting the Tri-County Toastmasters Club
which met in Virden for nearly 12 years. Dr. Austin also served as the Area 1
Governor of District 8 Toastmasters in 1998, and was the first president of the
Tri-County Toastmasters Club. He currently serves as a club mentor, an officer
and is a charter member of the Montgomery
County Toastmasters Club which meets in Hillsboro. In 2009, Dr. Austin earned
the coveted Distinguished Toastmaster award.
Austin and his wife, Eugena, are former Master
Gardeners who were trained by the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension
Service. They have volunteered their time to help with various Extension
projects throughout Macoupin County.
Dr. Todd Austin
from AFCvirden helped to organize the Virden 5K Walk
& Run Event to benefit the local food pantries.
Chiropractic helped to sponsor a total of three 5K Walk / Run Events in conjunction
with the Macoupin County Public Health Department's "Get Healthy
Macoupin" Program in the Spring of 2011.

All in all,
over $1,000 was raised for the Virden food pantries from the Virden 5K
proceeds, over $1,700 was raised for the Girard Food Pantry from the Girard 5K
event and over $1,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society from the
was to get North Macoupin County residents up and moving as warm weather
approached. And all proceeds benefitted great causes. Besides, all participants
got a goodie bag with great items including a pedometer, a nice ice pack and an
official event t-shirt.
Dr. Todd & Eugena have been assisting on the
sidelines for the Springfield Foxes
since the 2011 season. The Foxes are a semi-pro football team from the Eastern
Conference of the Mid States Football League. All Foxes home games are now
played on Saturday nights at Sacred Heart Griffin Stadium in
Springfield, IL during July, August & September. Please plan to attend some games,
support a local team and catch Dr. Todd & Eugena
in action as sideline chiropractor and sideline massage therapist respectively in 2013.
